Record Label Services

John Strazza is a highly respected music industry executive whose 30+ year career has helped shape the trajectory of some of the most successful artists and campaigns in modern pop and urban music. Known for his strategic instincts, promotional expertise, and artist-first approach, Strazza has operated at the highest levels of the major label system while consistently delivering breakthrough results. He began his career at Columbia Records, contributing to campaigns for global icons including Mariah Carey and Lauryn Hill. In 1998, he transitioned to RCA Records, where he played a key role in the success of powerhouse acts such as Christina Aguilera and NSYNC during a defining era of pop dominance.

In 2001, Strazza was recruited to join Jive Records as Vice President of Promotion. There, he helped drive radio and promotional strategy for some of the biggest artists in the world, including Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, and NSYNC. When Jive merged with RCA, he returned to RCA Records with expanded influence, overseeing campaigns for an elite roster that included Usher, Justin Timberlake, Pink, Chris Brown, and Miley Cyrus. His tenure during this period reinforced his reputation as one of the industry’s premier promotion executives. In 2018, Strazza stepped into an entrepreneurial chapter, joining RECORDS, the forward-thinking label founded by Barry Weiss. There, he helped build the company’s promotional infrastructure from the ground up, working with artists including Nelly and 24kGoldn, while also playing a pivotal role in launching the recording career of Noah Cyrus. When RECORDS entered the Sony Music Entertainment system in 2019 as a subsidiary of Columbia Records, Strazza assumed a dual leadership role: Head of Promotion for RECORDS and Senior Vice President of Promotion at Columbia.

During this period, he was instrumental in high-impact campaigns for globally dominant artists, including Adele, Beyoncé, Harry Styles, and Miley Cyrus, following her move to Columbia. His ability to align the artist's vision with market strategy contributed to sustained commercial and cultural success. In 2024, recognizing the accelerating shift toward independent distribution models and artist-controlled careers, Strazza launched his own consulting company. Leveraging decades of major-label experience, he now partners directly with artists and management teams to architect promotional strategy, build best-in-class teams, and execute campaigns outside traditional corporate systems. His consulting roster includes global stars such as Bruno Mars, Cardi B, Sean Paul, and Akon, alongside emerging talent poised for a breakthrough. Across three decades of industry evolution—from the peak CD era to streaming-driven independence—John Strazza has remained a trusted executive, strategic architect, and champion for artists navigating growth at the highest levels of the global music business.
